You pay every month for an app that annoys you. Replica helps you build your own version in Claude Code: it breaks down the original, reads what its users hate, and builds yours with those problems fixed.
What it is
Eleven free Claude Code skills, MIT license, over 6,300 stars on GitHub. No signup, no API key. They run as a chain: teardown, plan, design, build, backend, tests, a score against the original, review mining, your own brand, a landing page and launch on your own domain.
Steps
Step 1. Open Claude Code
Open it in an empty folder.
Step 2. Paste the prompt
Claude installs Replica in that folder and checks it works.
Step 3. Give it the app's link
Claude maps the screens and flows and tells you honestly how big the job is.
Step 4. Go step by step
After each stage you review the result and say what to change.
Paste into Claude Code
Install the Replica skills from github.com/Jakeschincariol/replica-skill into this folder. Use only the checked version, commit 77c9436fb3d18c3d58169efb8caf4fe906b0dc51, not main: download exactly that commit, copy its replica-* skill folders into .claude/skills in this folder, and check the skills show up. If they don't, tell me to restart Claude Code in this folder. Their tools need Python 3.8 or newer: check the version and install it if it's missing. Then ask me which app I want to break down and run the teardown on its link. Before building, tell me honestly how much work it is and what to leave for later. Then walk me through it step by step: show me the result after each stage and wait for my answer. Don't use the original's code, logos or copy. I'm not a developer: do everything you can yourself.

Start with a small app
A timer, a habit tracker, a booking page. Fewer screens means you get to a working version faster.
Reviews are your edge
The Entrepreneur skill pulls real reviews and ranks the top complaints with links. Fix those and you have a reason your version is better.
Your own brand is required
Replica won't ship while the original's name, domain or colors are still in the code.
The honest read
- It's not instant. The author says a booking tool takes weeks, and something very complex won't work.
- Hosting, domain, payments and service keys (like Stripe) are on you.
- Planning to sell it? Check trademarks and the original's terms. The author suggests a lawyer if real money is involved.
