Most people install skills for code. The most useful ones are for everything else: test a plan before you put a month into it, learn a new topic, write the copy for your site, find out why you're not on Google. Here are five of them, and one prompt installs them all.

What it is
Five skills for Claude Code. A skill is a ready set of instructions Claude picks up for a task. All five are open source, and all five are about everyday work: plans, learning, copy, your website.
- grill-me: you describe a plan, and Claude grills you in rounds of numbered questions, gives its own recommended answer to each, and won't start until every gap is closed.
- teach: you say what you want to understand, and it walks you through short lessons, makes cheat sheets and keeps a record of what you've covered. It teaches from trusted sources, not from the model's memory.
- copywriting: writes copy for your homepage, landing, pricing and product pages. Its rules ban the phrases that give AI writing away, and it flags missing facts instead of making them up.
- seo-audit: works out why your site doesn't show up on Google: indexing, speed, meta tags, content. It starts by checking whether Google can find the page at all.
- skill-creator: Anthropic's official skill. Describe a task in plain words, and it turns it into your own skill, runs it on test prompts and improves it based on the results.
How to install
Step 1. Open Claude Code
Open Claude Code on your computer in the folder you work in.
Step 2. Paste the prompt
Add a few words about yourself to the prompt. Claude installs the five skills, checks that Claude Code can see them and explains how to call each one. If something doesn't install, it tells you why.
Step 3. Start with grill-me
Type /grill-me and describe a plan you keep putting off. After a couple of rounds of questions, you'll see where it doesn't hold up.
Copy this into Claude Code
Install five skills for me in Claude Code: grill-me and teach from github.com/mattpocock/skills, copywriting and seo-audit from github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills, and skill-creator from github.com/anthropics/skills. grill-me relies on the grilling skill from the same repository, so install that too. Don't install any other skills from these repositories. Check that the skills are in the place Claude Code reads skills from and that they show up in the skills list. Then explain in plain words how to call each one, and give me one example request for each that fits me: I am [who you are and what you do]. If something doesn't install, explain what the problem is and fix it. I'm not a programmer: anything you can do yourself, do it yourself.

Good to know
grill-me before every task
The author calls it his most popular skill and suggests running it every time before a new task. The questions are written so that answering yes means you accept its recommendation.
One folder per topic for teach
teach turns a folder into a learning workspace: your goal, sources, lessons, cheat sheets. Give each topic its own folder, and next time it picks up where you left off.
Tell it about your product first
copywriting and seo-audit first look for a description of your product and audience. If there isn't one, they ask questions. Answer in detail once, and every text after that gets sharper.
The honest read
- grill-me and teach only run when you call them with /grill-me and /teach. Claude won't start them on its own.
- For a full audit, seo-audit asks for access to Google Search Console. Without it, it only checks what's visible on the site itself.
- The marketingskills README warns that an install run by Claude Code can put skills in a folder Claude Code doesn't read. That's why the prompt asks Claude to check where they landed.
- skill-creator lives in Anthropic's examples repository. Anthropic says the skills there are for demonstration and recommends testing them yourself before important work.
